My Home is My Castle
Cali and Dora had made it out of the library and were running with all their might.
“They shouldn’t see you and me together, I’m going to the portal,” Cali said and started running in a different direction. He went to the portal and passed through the forest.
Queen Heydelf was at the door when Dora entered the Royal Palace, covered in sweat and mud.
“Where have you been?”
Dora could have given many answers to this question. But she wouldn’t lie to her family. All she could do was tell the truth but leave some things out. So not telling everything was not a lie.
“I was in the royal library.”
“Hmmm. What were you doing?”
“I was researching topics I was curious about but couldn’t find answers to.”
“Hmmmm. What are those things?”
Cali was not used to her mother being so curious about what she was doing. Obviously, her mother had been tipped off.
“Things I’m curious about.”
“What is it that you’re curious about?”
Cali wasn’t used to her mother showering her with questions about what she was doing. Obviously, her mother had been tipped off.
“Things I’m curious about.”
“What is it that you’re curious about?”
Dora was tired of dancing around the subject.
“Oh, mum. Even if we’re half-elf, we’re cats. Curiosity is our job. If I tell you everything, how can I have a secrets? Is there a cat without a secret?”
Heydelf looked at her directly , expressionless at first. Then she smiled
“You’re a very clever girl, Dora. Too clever“.
Cali was extremely happy at home on Earth. He had left the exciting moments in Kittelfdora behind and left himself in the safe hands of Pat and Matilda. As time passed,, there was nothing he could not get done with her subtle ‘meow‘ sound. In this house, he had a masseur, a cook, a maid –Oh sorry!, two of them- and he didn’t have to pay for them.
“Meow”
“Oh, are you hungry my dear, I’ll put some food for you” Cali goes to the pot of food.
“Meow.”
“Oh, is it too cold, I’ll warm it up a bit and put it in front of you”
“Meow.”
“Oh, you like cheese, don’t you? I’ll put some cheese on your food.”
“Meow.”
“Do you want me to pat your head while you eat?”
“Meow.”
“Are you done? I’ll put the pots away and wash them, you like clean pots“…
After eating, they went to Matilda’s room together. Matilda started working on the laptop on the desk. A struggle started between Matilda and Cali, who liked to sit on the heat coming from the computer. Cali would sit on the computer, Matilda would move him to the side and he would go and sit again. After thinking for a while, Matilda took an electric blanket from the cubboard behind her, put it on her lap and put the cat on top of it, Cali who loved this solution, started to pur. They found the middle ground. But Cali, who was curious by nature, continued to look at what was happening on the screen with his head on Matilda’s lap.
Matilda wrote in the box that appeared in the screen:
“How to make a man fall in love with you”
“Places to visit in Paris”
“What’s on in cinemas”
Cali’s eyes got bigger and bigger… This thing was smart and knew everything. Maybe “Mr Google” could answer his questions.
